5 Ways To Save On Your Energy Bill

At times we tend to be so busy with our lives that we tend to forget the little things that can save us hundreds of dollars on our energy and electricity bill. If you look below you will find my top 5 tips that will save you the money.
1. Turn off lights that are not in use- By turning off the lights that are not in use in your home you will save 11% of you electric bill and will extend the life of those expensive lightbulbs.
2. Seal windows and doors- You should use silicone caulk in crevices and cracks to prevent cold or hot air from entering and leaving the house. This will help you use the air conditioner and heater less often than needed.
3. Switch to cold water when doing the laundry- If you use cold water when doing the laundry you can save more than $60 a year. Also if you lower the temperature of your water heater you can save more then $100 a year.
4 Turn off appliances- If you are not using an appliance it would be wise to shut it off. Also you should look for appliances with the energy star label on them this will tell you that the product will last a long time.
5. Use florescent lighting- If you switch to florescent lighing you will save around 50% on your next energy bill.
